The ISO 9000 family of international quality management standards and guidelines has earned a global reputation as a basis for establishing effective and efficient quality management systems. The need for International Standards is very important as more organizations operate in the global economy by selling or buying products and services from sources outside their domestic market.
Thern, Inc. is ISO 9001:2008 Registered
ISO 9001:2008 is part of the ISO 9000 family of standards, and is the document that lists the requirements an organization must meet to become ISO 9001 Registered.
ISO 9001 specifies the basic requirements for a quality management system (QMS) that an organization must fulfill to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products (and services) that enhance customer satisfaction and meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization:
- needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
- aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
ISO 9001 does not define the actual quality of a product or service. The standard helps us achieve consistent results and continually improve the process. Thus, if we can make a good product most of the time, this helps us make it all of the time. ISO 9001 is a series of good, basic business practices.
